Won’t give her the vote?

Emmeline Pankhurst, English suffragist, died ninety years ago today. Hobbies included politics, hunger strikes, arson, and long marches on the street. I find myself with mixed feelings about her – did her increasingly violent tactics advance the suffragist movement or set it back? And maybe it’s a little questionable to cut ties with two of your daughters because they had two thoughts about breaking windows and saw World War I as the ridiculous shit show it was? But no one can claim she was wishy-washy.
