Jeremy Bentham Haiku

Force your successors

To keep corpse knocking about –

That’s living the dream.

The philosopher Jeremy Bentham, founder of utilitarianism, died 186 years ago. He did what everyone thought about doing, but never had the guts to do – have his body stuffed and preserved, to the delight and horror of all. You can go see it at University College London.

Friends, family, you now know my wishes.
