Mary Seacole Haiku

Redcoats’ varied bits.

Florence Nightingale, the subject of Saturday’s haiku, had many fine qualities, but man, oh man, was she a dick to Mary Seacole. But no one keeps Seacole down and she went off to help the wounded in the Crimean War anyway, no matter how much it annoyed Nightingale. Read more about her adventures here.

Incidentally, Seacole died 137 years ago today. I might have done a haiku for her birthday, but no one actually knows it.
