Reading about Churchill’s interactions with Roosevelt prior to Pearl Harbor puts one in mind of a suitor really, really trying to woo the object of their affection and not getting that they’re just not that into them. Maybe they’d make more progress if they didn’t bombard them with texts and requests for battleships, you know?
